Hacked

Earlier tonight my PartyPoker account got hacked into. I am not sure how this happened. Party support said that the person logged in from my IP address. They made a new email address and somehow got my password sent to it. I am very frustrated and confused on who did this and why. I cashed out all funds from all my sites, so I can't play poker until this is settled. Party is currently investigating it, and I cannot get into my account because its frozen. The hacker made a $3k cashout to some bookers account (not mine), then lost $5k playing blackjack. So I am currently out $8k and pissed off.

I have heard stories like this and never thought it could happen to me. I never give out my password to anyone, and I am on a secure, firewalled wireless network. So to all you readers out there, just please be careful and don't share your passwords, and make sure you are on a secure wireless network. Even if you are, it can still happen. Its one thing to lose $8k at the tables, but when someone else takes it from you, and you can't do anything about it... It really sucks. So now poker is on postponed. I will keep you updated with how this progresses.

Thats horrible, I hope everything gets resolved for you. Funny you mentioned the importance of changing your password. Just recently I changed all of my passwords on all the sites. I think I am gonna continue to change my password seasonly. You are a high roller, I am sure they want to keep your buisness and make you a deal.

I think its done by someone you know, why would he spend it on bj ? He prolly wanted to double that and withdraw the money won so you woudnt notice.

If you mainly only play on 1 computer then I think a safe thing to do is just always stay logged on your accounts, that way no one can get on. This is what I do and I'm pretty sure a lot of others do the same. Just an idea,

if i have to guess, you lost your password while u were in vegas with the other online pros. I'd backtrack my way in vegas coz if you had a good password, it's pretty darn hard to crack into an account like that. Maybe some1 had a snooping software running in the vegas house where u were staying with other online pros. But that's just my guess, all I'm saying is it's fairly easy to intercept data such as user name and passwords if you have access to the network.

hey sorry about your losses. Well i had the same problem with Absolute Poker. over $7500 supposively lost through there blackjack. I'm out 7500 right now and my bank and local police department both have open investigations on it. It happened in early July. I was playing poker everyday and was up 8k in 2 months. Now i feel like i cant play cause im out 1/3 of my entire bankroll since i had 22k before and now only have 14k. It sucks contact me rsmtirishballa35@yahoo.com
